All carbs that we re-manufacture / rebuild go through the same processes. This is regardless
of their future use, so even dummy carbs go through this process. This is true if you supply us
with cores or not. We completely disassemble the carb, including pulling the emulsion tubes,
jets, butterflies, and so forth. All parts are ultra-sonically cleaned for up to 3 days, thus
removing any foreign material in all the passages, and ensuring proper flow back to
specifications. We very carefully and lightly bead blast the throttle bodies, airhorn, and bodies.
We then check for straightness / flatness of all mating surfaces for a good seal.
As normal course of business, we powder coat the throttle bodies (bases) black. We can
powder coat in a multitude of colors including clear, red, blue, yellow, etc., no additional
charge. Black seems to be the preference. We can leave the base in raw casting but
understand they will rust very quickly. The bodies and airhorns are painted with Eastwoods
silver (pewter) carb (gas impervious) paint. These can be left in the raw casting, but
understand that will not leave a uniform finish to the carb.
All running carbs will have Genuine Stromberg rebuild kits installed, which include the following
new parts:
O-rings for the bowl screws
Idle Screws and holding springs
Airhorn Gasket (thicker than most after market rebuild kits)
Body to Throttle Body gasket (thicker than most after market rebuild kits)
Stainless Steel Screws (originals or allen head offer at no additional charge)
Completely New Accelerator Pump including pump springs (most kits only come with the pump)
O-ring for the power-by-pass valve
New Check valve
All other parts are reconditioned or replaced as necessary
Your choice of jets and power-by-pass valve sizes

Dummy carb

Dummy carbs look and act just like a fully
functional carbs except there is no gas
flow to the bowl / carb. A block-off plate is
required to stop vacuum from pulling
through the carb (see accessories page)
